Love Lock Hot News...

Hello Everyone.

Hot News about the love locks.

I submitted a planning permission application for the new structure to house all the locks and yippeee - it has been granted.

The locks are all safely stored at Thornbridge - my home.

The locks are in numbered bags that shows where they were on the bridge.

So the bays on the new Love Locker will match the bays on the bridge. Helping everyone to find their locks.

The building of the new ‘Love Locker’ begins second week in Jan 2025. The launch date I am working towards is the 14th February. Valentines Day.

I am getting an enormous amount of free support from companies and individuals who have worked on restoring Thornbridge Hall and building the Thornbridge Brewery in Bakewell. Smith and Roper architects and Mick Edge at RMS builders. A massive thank you to them.

The love locker will be built by the professionals - with all the safety measures in place.

I know that people wanted to volunteer to help build - but - rules on a construction site don’t allow for that.

BUT….  I do need volunteers for something else….

We need to string 40,000 locks back onto their brand new designated wire. We are using the products of Gripple and the Metal Store to build the Love Locker. A massive thanks to them too.

The stringing of the locks will start in early January.

Can you help? You could do a morning slot or afternoon - or both??? All week!

We could make a party of it - using carriage house ballroom - and I’m sure I can convince Jim to donate his Beer - hot drinks too and no doubt cake.
